NGC 5139 or Omega Centauri is a globular cluster (GC) in the constellation Centaurus. Located at a distance of 17.000 light years it is the largest known GC in the Milky Way and contains about 10 million stars. In this wide field image you can see some background galaxies as well as the IFN.
