NGC 6302 (also known as Butterfly Nebula) is a bipolar planetary nebula in the constellation Scorpius. The structure in this nebula is one of the most complex seen in planetary nebulae. The spectrum of NGC 6302 shows that its central star is one of the hottest stars known. NGC 6302 is embedded in a faint H-Alpha structure, that covers most of the field of view.
