In the north of the constellation Corona Australis is the Corona Australis Molecular Cloud, a dark molecular cloud with many embedded reflection nebulae. About 430 light years (130 parsecs) away, it is one of the closest star-forming regions to the Solar System. Lying adjacent to the nebulosity is the globular cluster known as NGC 6723, which is actually in the neighbouring constellation of Sagittarius and is much much further away.
