NGC 1398 is an isolated barred spiral galaxy with a double ring structure in the constellation Fornax. This galaxy is about 65 mio. light years away from earth and has a diameter of about 135.000 lightyears with over 100 billion stars. It was discovered by F. Winnecke in 1868, a german astronomer.
